Without question my favorite athletic movement(s) are the Oly lifts! I firmly believe that there presence in athletic training regimens are crucial and that they are underutilized. I believe that knowing how to perform them correctly is imperative to ones success in being an athlete.
I also believe that there place and value in CrossFit has yet to be fully recognized and appreciated. As someone who has performed the lifts for over 10 years, coached them throughout those 10 years, and now creates training programs for athletes; I feel that incorporating the movements into ones daily routine is a crucial key to attaining ones goals!
So...Talk to us about your Olympic Lifting experience! What is your experience with the Oly lifts? How do you rate yourself as an Oly lifter vs. the rest of the movements you regularly perform? Are you self taught? If not, how did you learn? What kind of benefits do you feel you get or don't get from the lifts and why? Would you ever be interested in competing at an USAW meet? Rate your technical understanding of the lifts and what other questions you might have..
This is just a few of the topics we can discuss. I would love to hear your thoughts and questions about both the Snatch & Clean and Jerk!
